In a shocking announcement today, Jon Stewart announced that he is retiring from the Daily Show, a show he has hosted for since 1999. At a taping, he let slip the news to the audience who naturally were not expecting any kind of news as big (or as unfunny) as this. Comedy Central just released a statement confirming that Jon Stewart is leaving, and thank him for his years of service. He will remain as the host of the Daily Show until later in the year, leaving question – who will replace him? John Oliver could shift away from Last Week Tonight and take over the reigns, or perhaps Larry Wilmore will take over the reigns. If you’re feeling betting on something crazy – put Craig Kilborn’s name back in the hat!

One thing is for sure, and that is that Jon Stewart will be terribly missed.
