When LG came out with the LG G3, it was wildly hailed as one of the best Android devices on the market, beating competitors less than perfect smartphone launches that year and allowing LG to capture new customers. Their follow up device enters a market with a lot stronger offerings from the competition, and knocks it out of the park. Considering we’re in December, it’s safe to assume that the LG G4 is certainly in contention (and if not #1, it’s definitely #2) for Phone of the Year.
Right out of the box, you’ll understand why the LG G4 is such a powerful device. On first look you’ll find a genuine leather back that adds a new layer of sophistication, but also allows you to switch it out with other backings, meaning you also have access to the removeable battery – a feature sorely lacking from many other flagship phones. The LG G4 itself is slightly curved with intent, and features a 5.5″ IPS Quantum Display (2560 x 1440 resolution) that is as bright and vibrant as we’ve ever seen. With power and volume controls located on the rear of the device, it cleans up the edges of the phone.
Inside, the LG G4 is packing a Snapdragon 808 processor (6 cores, 4 for moderate (battery saving) performance and 2 for high performance), 32 GB of memory, and 3GB of RAM. It also has a microSD slot capable of handling up to 2TB. The LG G4 also features a camera designed to take better pictures than ever – a 16MP camera with f/1.8 lens, a colour spectrum sensor and their manual mode, which enables you to customize everything from the ISO to the focus, to the shutter speed. Plus, it shoots in RAW. Overall, the LG G4 definitely displays why it’s so highly reviewed and loved by users – it offers a lot of impressive features.
